What's Happening On The Farm

2025 Update!

Well, it was a long winter.  Here in Central Minnesota it was a very cold winter with many days with temps below zero, and going as low as 20-30 below for several weeks.  We didn't get a lot of snow, so that was disappointing. We did get out on the lake a couple of times to do some ice fishing so that is the extent of our "Vacation time" away from the animals.  All of our animals did good over the winter with the exception of one of our sows.  She refused to go into her shelter and we believe she got too cold.  Kevin tried vitamins, blankets, heating pads, and nothing worked, we lost her.  That was a first for us, and it was difficult.

Spring is now here and with it comes farrowing season.  Our sow Pebbles (with Boar Zeus) had our first litter on April 11th, She had 11 piglets:  7 girls/4 boys and they are doing so good!  Pebbles is an excellent Momma and she is feeding them well!  As I write this they are one week old and already chubby!  They are very active and friendly and all but 3 are already spoken for!  We have another litter due in May and another in June.  We have a list started on those litters so if you are interested in a breeder or a feeder, let us know ASAP.

We currently have 7 pigs that are scheduled to go to the processor  June 24th that we are looking for buyers for halves and wholes ASAP!  If you are interested, please let us know right away.  Time to clean out your freezers and make room for some delicious Pork!

We have more pigs going to the processor August 13th and August 27th so reach out to us if you are interested in one of those pigs.  Many of our customers go in with family or friends on a whole or half pig.

We will be at the Moose Lake Farmers Market every Saturday starting May 3rd through October.  The hours are 9am to 1pm and the location is Generation Park on Arrowhead Lane and Earl Ellen's Drive, across from Moose Lake Brewery. Stop by and see us! We sell all of our cuts right at the Market so you could try it before you buy a whole or a half or just stock up on the cuts you want.  Our customer have had nothing but wonderful reviews on the Pork we sell.  Last year we sold out of all our available cuts by July so don't wait!

Until next time,

Sandy and Kevin Morgan
